The Specialization Program of Digital Animation Production

Digital Animation Production

1.Program Focus and Development Direction
Guided by the practical demands of the digital content industry, this program establishes a learning platform that integrates visual storytelling theories with digital animation production technologies. It aims to cultivate animation and visual effects (VFX) production talent with a global perspective through systematic technical training and aesthetic cultivation. The program not only emphasizes the articulation between foundational and core capabilities, but is also committed to exploring emerging development directions and innovative trends. This ensures that students develop strong competitiveness and translational skills within the rapidly evolving fields of technological engineering and visual communication.

2. Core Competencies

Students enrolled in this program will build a comprehensive set of core competencies, spanning from narrative conception to digital animation production. First, students must master the fundamental logic of visual storytelling and animation practice. Building on this foundation, they will develop skills in precise 2D drawing, 3D spatial modeling, and 3D character animation performance. Furthermore, the curriculum emphasizes development capabilities in film/television special effects, motion graphics, and interactive entertainment/edutainment design, enabling students to flexibly apply advanced graphics and animation technologies to solve complex visual problems.

3. Curriculum Overview
The program structure adopts a progressive, tiered design, requiring a minimum of 18 total credits for completion. The curriculum is divided into Foundational Courses that lay the groundwork for creative logic—comprising two required subjects: Visual Storytelling and Basic of Animation Practices; and Core Courses designed to enhance professional technical depth, where students must choose four out of six advanced subjects: 3D Computer Graphics, 3D Computer Character Animation, Film Special Effects and Motion Graphics, 2D Computer Graphics, Computer Graphics and Animation Techniques, and Interactive Entertainment & Educational System Design.
